I'm trying to learn to do some different things with the family pictures. Here is my first attempt at making a photo collage. These pictures were taken at Christmas. All of the children came home for Christmas this year. What fun we had....It was a very Merry Christmas.

Bob & Patti RV The Oregon Coast

We did Disneyland with the grandchildren early in the summer but missed the Oregon Coast on the way back home so we decided to take another break and see all the lighthouses. We got to see several beautiful gardens. The flowers were still blooming and it was peaceful to just take a walk and enjoy the quiet.

Fall is a great time to travel. The kids are back in school and the summer crowd is gone. The Oregon Coast was terrific. We liked having the bigger RV and we just took our time and didn't get in a hurry to be anywhere. These are a few of the pictures. I think Bob took hundreds. I was impressed with how well Oregon keeps there parks. Clean and well maintained. I'd like to go back and do it again.

Just a few of the lighthouses that we saw. Lots of seals on the rocks but you can't see them in this picture very well. We enjoyed watching them but if we got too close the smell was not great.

Cooking Can Be Fun....

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, was Enrichment Night. Kelli Devoe taught us how to make some of her favorite Portuguese recipes. We each brought an ingredient for our favoirte dish and had a fun exchange. I got a great stew recipe which Bob will really like and Loraine Nelson gave me her favorite "Miss Piggy" Cookie recipe. I'll let you know how that turns out. You all know how I hate to cook, but I really enjoyed learning to make something so different. Thanks Kelli.

This is the final product of two of the dishes that we learned to make. We also did noodles for our chicken noodle soup and of course we ate cookies for dessert. It was a yummy night with lots of good conversation.

Olympia can be very beautiful, when it's not raining and the sky is just right. One of the things on the list was a picture of a kiss. This is the "Kissing Statue" at Percival Landing (the southern most tip of the Puget Sound). How romantic....

Met some wonderful people while we were looking for things on our scavenger hunt. This is a shot up by the capital, overlooking downtown Olympia.

What a fun nights activity. It's been awhile since we went on a scavenger hunt. While we were getting a picture of artesian water we decided that we'd get a nice cool drink....all at once.

On the left is a picture of Jacque Bippert Sr. He was born in Riquewihr, France, on March 10, 1800. He and his mother Christina, as well as his second wife Magdalene Lett and two children were the first to come to the United States.

Great Great Grandfather Jacque Bippert Sr. reached the blessed age of 94 years. He died February 10, 1894 at Castroville, Texas. "He was a fine type of the sturdy pioneer of Europe who settled in southwest Texas. After assisting to conquer the wilderness, under the stress of great hardship and danger, he lived long enough to enjoy the fruits of his early toil. His old age was marked by peace and plenty."
